I bought several of your feeders and they were a big hit! Our Caique and Cockatoo vocalize every time they see us doing anything with the feeders. Placing an ear of corn into the large feeder provides the birds with fun times while we are away at work, I can see where she has had to move it around to try and gain access to more of the corn. Thanks for the ideas on your blog, keep the information coming.

About Us

imageHello, my name is Susan Moore. I have been working in the pet industry for 22 years. I have experience in retail, rescue and services. I live with an adopted, one legged blue front Amazon and a Congo African Grey. I also share my home with six dogs. My fascination with parrots began when I was 18 and visited a family friend who had a lesser sulfur crested Cockatoo. “Powder-puff” immediately took to me and me to her. Since meeting Powder-puff, I have been completely fascinated with the pscitticine species. My goal is to make my birds’ home setting as natural as possible.

imageHello, my name is Katherine Znamirowski. When I was five years old, I discovered my very first loves—two budgies named ‘Peetie’ and ‘Tweetie.’ To my parent’ s surprise, I would spend hours at a time watching their unique behaviors. I tried desperately to communicate with them on a human level. Since then, I have had the opportunity to care for many species of birds before ending up with the love of my life; a rescued Goffin’s Cockatoo whom I have had for 6 years. To further my understanding of wild animals in captivity (especially avians), I earned an AS at the Zoo Animal Technology Program at Santa Fe Community College’s Teaching Zoo. My goal is to improve the companion bird’s life in captivity while simplifying and economizing the care of the companion bird for the human.
